Designer diapers... - July 8th 2010, 03:53 PM

Anyone heard about this? I've already seen the denim diapers :/ But supposedly their taking it up another notch to designer diapers.... And, obviously, they are going to be a bit pricier than regular diapers. I guess they are debuting at Target mid-July.

Would anyone here actually shell out the extra dollars for prettier disposable undies just for your little ones to pee and poop in it?

Personally I like my sesame street pattern diapers just fine My son rarely goes out without pants/shorts on anyway, but even if he did I couldn't care less what was on it.

Honestly it will probably end up being a waste of time. I would say that diapers are expensive enough, let alone dishing out however much more they want for "pretty" diapers. I cannot imagine buying them, even if I think they are just amazing. Don't have the pennies for all that!

I think designer diapers, and paying more money for them is just outrageous, because really they are just going to ruin them by pooping and peeing in them and you'll have to throw them away anyways, so it's just a waste, why not just stick to regular diapers?

Not worth it at all lol.
I don't even go buy designer underwear for myself, and I don't even shit or piss in them.

Those will be bought by all the yuppie mommies who have nothing better to do than decorate every inch of their child with stupid crap.

I'll be sticking to Luvs. Perfect price, no issues works fine for me.

That is a little crazy now maybe if they were cloth and washable, yes just like our underwear sometimes have designs, but if they are going to be disposable why on Earth pay more.

Impressive work, but not that cute. I think a little Elmo character would be too adorable to pass up

Re: Designer diapers... - July 10th 2010, 06:28 PM

I don't think I would ever shell out that much money for a desiner diaper. Now if someone wanted to buy them for me then more power to them. Also I don't know why they would make them more expensive if they are just going to be disposed of. If they were the same price as normal diapers (which they are just like normal ones) then sure why not.

But when I have children, they will be put in normal ones just like the rest of the normal world.

Re: Designer diapers... - July 10th 2010, 08:05 PM

We've had them here for the past few months, they're limited edition, and the price of regular diapers here... they're really cute but my baby is too small for them. I think they're neat and look better than a regular diaper, especially for going out... where I live we're hitting the high 30's to 40... which is 90-100... I just want my little guy in a diaper.

I might for the irony of it once, but otherwise I totally wouldn't cough up the extra dough so my kid could poop on Isaac Mizrahi designer diapers

If I had the money, I think I might get them for my little one a few times. I like pretty things, what can I say?
However, I'm guessing money would be really tight if I did have a child. It'd be a fun novelty sort of thing though.

"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it.
I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote,
“Dear Jim: I loved your card.”
Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.”
That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything.
He saw it, he loved it, he ate it."

They're very cute, in my opinion. But the baby is just going to do their business in it and then you throw it out. If I had children, I wouldn't buy them, it's a big waste of money.

Why buy fake denim nappies when you can get cloth fitted nappies with real denim on the outside? It would be like buying plastic jeans with a denim print on them.

If you want to buy your baby nice nappies or show them off, you buy them cloth ones, not disposables.

I use Parents Choice diapers and they work just fine. I won't even buy the "jean" diapers simply because they're more pricey and are going to be used just the same as the less expensive ones. Kaden doesn't mind one bit.

To be honest I think they're kind of weird looking, if I saw a baby in those I would think it was weird. So I definitely wouldn't buy them.
