fun baby name debate -

 me and my boyfriend have been talking about baby names lately. But we are no where near on having one. I want a child badly but for now my friends kid is helping, so theres no rush.(I love that little girl like my own). we are waiting to move out and be stable in all area's like job, food, money, and house before we have one. But me and him, when he brings up the name we have a debate. he wants our kids first name to be Atreyu and his middle Arcadius But I want Arcadius to be his first name (We compormised on a girls name ) we asked a few people and they are neutral with both. So I'm asking all of you on teenhelp to write which name you like better as a first name -Arcadiusor  - Atreyu.. ... .... ..... ...... ....... ........ ....... ..... ... .. if we have a girl her name will be Serena Marie

How do you pronounce the second one?
Although I think it's cool giving kids unusual names - In this day and age you have to be aware of the effects of bullying in later life. I'm still alive.

I love the girls name!!

Out of the names I like Artreyu the best. However, I agree that naming a kid something that unique could have bad effects like bullying.

) that name sounds fun.  but seriously,those are strange names. which is better? aritreyu arcadius or arcadius aritreyu? it doesnt matter then. just how it sounds,maybe the first on but pretty much the same i guess. if your asking for which one for me to pick,then aritreyu cause of the short version trey,and arcadius sounds weirder...a bit.  i agree with others though,maybe more simple name would be better to pick. these sound like from a book of history.  love the girl name. I really like Atreyu, honestly. It's very unique and has a nice ring to it. I'm not too keen on Arcadius, though.

I don't really like either.
I prefer Artreyu though as it can be shortened to Trey. Thing is although spelt differently it is still pronounced the same and the band Atreyu and I am not keen on naming a child after a band even if it is unintentional. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atreyu_(band) |

I like Artreyu ... It's from the Neverending Story and my favourite character.
However - you cannot give a child a name that he will hate later in life. I love the name Artreyu - but it belongs in the books and realms of Fantasia. And just to be difficult - I'm not sure about the girl's name either. Sorry So much for that idea ...

I really dislike both. I might be boring but I prefer more common names. If I have a boy I want to name him Seth.

I like atreyu as the first name... I have a friend who just recently had a son and named him that. Atreyu is also my favorite character from the never ending story. I say go for it, but maybe you should pick a more normal middle name in case he wants to be called something "normal" I do like trey, but its really about what you think he would want.

I agree, I like the girls name alot(:
As for the boy thoughh, I mean.. I Like odd names, but I think they both rank equally. I honestly don't think they are too great.. Like I would rate them a 5 or 6 on a scale of 1-10. (One being the worst, Ten being the best) |

thanks for all the comments! I' am greatful for all of your suggestions. you will all know when the time comes when I have a baby
and yes the name Atreyu was after the boy from never ending story( my boyfriend loves that movie) and I picked names uncommon because they stand out to me. I have to say my name beats naming my kid Kazuma from s-cry-ed ( it an anime) (a person I know named his kid that) and I love the name my other friend gave his baby girl "Pandora" 10-7-06! sometimes we can find true love <3 Nick & Kare |

Choosing names for little ones always changes through the years... when I was little I wanted to name my little boy Josh... as I aged the names for the kids I wanted became different. My little boy is named Dante, something not totally out there but its still unique, and if he doesn't like "Dante" he can go with Dan, Don, Donnie... it leaves it open for him. With the name Nicolette I was teased all the time as a kid being called Nicorette, so I turned to Nikki for a while.
