Okay so i am 32 weeks pregnant
i have been getting bh contractions non stop for about 3 days tonight i starting timing them and they are coming no farther then every 5 minutes apart. my stomach feels extemely heavy and my back is feeling weak. My contractions dont hurt though and im not bleeding so my doctors just put it off like its nothing. I just dont know what this is or what to do. Its really icy out and i dont wanna make a trip to the hospital for nothing it about a 45 minute drive. I have a dr appt tomorrow at 2:30, so i guess im just wanting to know if its okay to wait til then to get checked or if anyone else has experienced this and if it was true labor or not. |

Do your contractions ease up when you get up and move around? If so, then probably just BH.
Are you feeling contractions coming from back to front? Or just in the front/abdominal area? Are you feeling any pressure in your vagina? You said you haven't had any show.. but have you lost your mucus plug yet? Or leaked any fluid? All I can really say is, if they keep getting stronger and get closer together then get to the hospital. When reality is a prison, your mind can set you free. |

I have tried laying down on my left side and walking around neither has helped.
i drink water all the time so i know its not because im dehydrated. Im not feeling any pressure in my vagina right now but i have felt pain in it since the contractions have started about 3 days ago it just comes and goes. I have also had hip pain lower back pain and period like cramps in the last 3 days but im not getting those right now. My stomach feeling very heavy and my back feeling weak and kinda achy are new symptoms that just started tonight. And no i havent lost my mucus plug but my discharge has changed in the past few days its become more watery but its never been a gush or anything. |

It is possible to leak fluid and not have a sudden gush.
Have you called your doctor within the past couple hours to tell him how you've been feeling? I can't really give great advice about going into labor, because I was induced. But I had braxton hicks like crazy. The BH kept dilating me but never was in active labor so my doctor induced me. I never had them come every five minutes on the dot, they were pretty sporadic even when they came a lot in a short period of time. Like I said, if they keep getting stronger, more painful, and closer together definitely go. In the mean time, call your doctor and let him know how you are feeling. When reality is a prison, your mind can set you free. |

Yeah i called the doctor that was on call tonight about 30 mins ago after i timed my contractions, she just kinda rushed off the phone with out even listening to all my symptoms. And they arent really 5 mins on the dot but they are no longer then 5 mins apart sometimes coming at 4 minutes. So who knows, im just hoping to wait it out til tomorrow since i have a doctors appointment anyways but i really dont wanna go into full out labor at 32 weeks either.

I'd say you are probably good to wait until your doctors appointment (like I said, in case something major changes). Your contractions shouldn't be jumping around when it comes to the time between them, even if they are coming often.
I really hope your baby decides to wait a few more weeks too! Good luck! When reality is a prison, your mind can set you free. |

Thank you. I know i probably over react to stuff sometimes lol but its nice to be reassured by someone who has been through it and my doctor sure doesnt do that!

Warm baths help bh... BUT if for WHATEVER if you're not feeling the baby kick regularly get yourself in RIGHT AWAY. I caution this because I thought I was having BH and I was actually in labour, the umbillical cord was too short and as my baby dropped the cord ripped the placenta away from the uterus wall causing me to bleed internally. I ended up not being able to feel him move for a few hours and I went in and ended up delivering because his heartrate dropped. If for ANY reason something doesn't feel right trust your instincts and get yourself in, better safe than sorry.

Is the baby kicking? There is a certain amount of kicks you should be watching for ever hour.
If you're not feeling those kicks go in right away. BH can be eased by drinking ice water/resting/eating or taking baths. If the contractions are not easing up and are actually coming every 5 minutes, it would probably be best to go in and get checked out. (Better to make a 45 minute trip to find out it's nothing, than to wait and find out it is something ) .:6:21 a.m.:. .:12-01-2007:. .:Logan Jacob:. My Everything I support Project Linus! I went to the doctor on wednesday and he checked my cervix and said it was still closed but that it thinned. He didnt really get into detail about it just told me that if i could hold off til 34 weeks(im 32 weeks and 3 days now) he would deliver him but if i went into labor before then it would have to be stopped. Im still getting contractions every 5 minutes and they still arent very painful sometimes i cramp when i get them but not all the time.
Has anyone had the problem of their cervix thinning early? Or how long did it take your labor to start once it started thinning? Ive put my self on my own type of bed rest trying to calm the contractions but its still not really helping, i just really dont wanna go into labor and then have to have it stopped. Oh and on his movements, i do kick counts everyday now and it takes him about 5 mins or less to do his 10 movements, he is always moving around. |
