I lost the baby -
December 18th 2010, 12:29 PM
Yesterday I went to the ER for spotting, I was 10 wks 3 days pregnant. U/S showed 9 wk fetus, no heartbeat. HCG levels were down to 1102. I am trying to wait it out and miscarry at home. I don't want another d&c

I'm so sorry for your loss, i went through a miscarriage a couple of years ago and it was very hard to get through but you will get through it i promise. If you ever need to talk im here for you!

Just wanted to update everyone. I saw another OBGYN and they confirmed via u/s that the baby had no heartbeat. Still haven't started the physical part of the miscarriage but the OBGYN told me he was confident that it should happen sometime this week or next based off of my hcg levels (1102 on friday) and from how everything looks on the u/s. I denied a D&C. I have had two before, I don't want another one, I need the closure that comes with actually seeing my baby, and the OBGYN said that with as far along as I was (his est based on u/s was that the baby's heart stopped beating/stopped forming within days of me finding out. which was almost 11 weeks pregnant) that I most likely would be able to identify the baby when it came out, and to expect basically a mini labor when it does happen, contractions and all. But it shouldn't last longer than 6-10 hrs before the main part is over.

Hey Amber - I am very sorry about this!
And you will definitely know the difference when the baby actually comes out, I know I did. Its very emotional and hard, but I am sure you will be fine. Lots of thoughts and prayers from here! x Single Mommy since July 2011   my back-to-back babies are 1 year, 1 week and 1 day apart. |
