The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has voted for new rules increasing the quality standards required for crib construction and also banning the manufacture and sale of drop-side style cribs. The new rules are expected to take effect in Summer 2011.

Thanks for the information. I know the drop down cribs are cute but can be unsafe.
