This has probably been asked before.. - December 23rd 2010, 02:17 AM

Sorry if it has, but I'm kind of too panicked to take the time and go look.

How long after you have sex can you take a pregnancy test that should come out accurate?

Two weeks after sex, or right after a missed period. I would wait until the missed period, because the test is more likely to be reliable then and you don't have to worry about a false negative because it's too soon to detect.

I don't get a period anymore, ever, because I'm on the depo-shot.

But thank you for replying

It's been roughly a month since the sex in question, so I'll take a test in the morning.

Yes, as long as it's been at least two weeks, you should be able to get an accurate result. Not always, but usually 14 days is long enough.

14 days should be accurate. if its negative and you are still worried, wait another week and take another.

"omg i might be pregnant!?!?!"

"ok..calm down..pee on your keyboard...nope its negative"

14 days seems correct.
