It could be a false positive and you could just be so convinced you're pregnant that you're showing symptoms.
If they took a blood test, the results are more definite than a urine one. However, if you want to make sure that their results are correct, wait a week to test again and test first thing in the morning - that's when the hormones are most concentrated. |

It could be a false positive but if you're worried about it, go back to the doctor and ask for another test or an ultrasound to find the cause of your growing belly.

As Liz said, you could be putting yourself in a state of mind that makes you think your pregnant, called a false/hysterical pregnancy. You get all the same signs and symptoms, but you're truly not pregnant. I'm not sure why a home pregnancy test would come up positive, but the doctor's tests didn't, but it could be a false positive. I'd make an appointment with another doctor to request another blood/urine test to be done just to be sure, and then if it's still negative, ask them why you've been feeling this way as of late.

The faintness of a line does not indicate how far a long you are. It indicates how much hormone is being released. Many women get positive tests, only to take another test 48 hours later and it's negative.
1 out of 4 women miscarry, and of the 1 of 4, most of them are chemical pregnancies. This basically means the egg implanted to your uterus, but for whatever reason either was absorbed back into your body (disappearing egg), or it detached from the uterus. This can lead to "missed miscarriage" where your body thinks it is still pregnant but is not. It could also be you got a false positive - the test was too sensitive. Or, the test was just messed up. That's fairly common too. Or, it could be a hysterical pregnancy. We do not know. Your doctor is the only one who will. A blood test is much more accurate. Did they test your HCG levels in the blood test? If you still have doubts, you are far enough along you could have an ultrasound in a few weeks. Usually anywhere from 10 weeks on you can see an egg or fetus in an ultrasound. Kelly So you have gray hair and you're only 26
that's just another reason I love you... ![]() ![]() ![]() |
