Post So broody!!! ¬_¬ - September 4th 2011, 02:29 PM

Recently I've been feeling so broody! Like when my boyfriend goes to work and I'm left alone I just think "It would be so much better if I had a baby to cuddle right now" and stuff, I'm only 15 and I know for a fact a baby would be such a bad idea right now because we're having financial difficulties at home but I can't get the thought out of my head. It's always playing at the back of my mind and sometimes it literally upsets me how badly I want one, sometimes I even cry...

Does anyone have any suggestions to keep these thoughts out of my mind?

change your attitude and you can change your life.

This is actually very common. There have been multiple threads made on it, so I thought linking you to the one I found most helpful might help you. Here is the link. It's some other users' reviews on how tough it is for them to be parents. It's not all glamour, as I'm sure you know.

This link is of another 15 year old who also was wanting a baby, though she knew it was not the right time.

I'm 21, yet I still cuddle with a stuffed animal when I'm really upset or alone. I rarely use it, but when I do it helps to just have something in your arms. Sometimes I put my head into the fur and cry. It feels warm and almost like someone is there, so it's kind of tricking your mind.

Also, think about the baby. The baby you want would not have the best life it could have if you wait. You would have to find a babysitter for school or if you have a movie or extra curricular activity to do, you would have to find a babysitter. Your baby wouldn't get to know you the way they should if you wait until you are financially and emotionally ready.

You know - I'm sure - that having a baby because you are lonely. Don't get me wrong, I've thought it too. Also, it would strain you more. You would rarely sleep, most of the time you have to eat on the go and can't sit down to enjoy a meal, etc.

As I said, using a stuffed animal really helps me. What if you got a pet? Even if it's just a hamster or something you can handle and is fairly cheap (keep in mind at least yearly vet bills, as well as emergencies). I have 5 ferrets and a degu and when I start thinking of wanting a child, I remember I have them. I also remember how much work it takes to care for them, and money, and then I realize I can put them in a cage...and obviously you can't do that with children :P

So a stuffed animal or a pet. Feel free to PM if you need anymore ideas or anything else.

So you have gray hair and you're only 26

that's just another reason I love you...

I know it sounds kinda silly, but maybe you could get a baby doll to play with? I actually have a couple of teddies that I like to hold and rock like babies when I'm feeling broodie, and it's obviously not the same thing as having a real baby, but it's an alright substitute xD

There's always light at the end of a tunnel, even if you have to pass a few bends to see it.

Proud reciever of a glance from Kyo xD
