We had a former radio station in SF (KNGY) and it has been categorized as a "gay" radio station. What qualifies as gay music? They played contemporary dance music (disco, I guess?) It just confuses me how a certain genre can be attached to a stereotype of what sexual orientation people who listen to it are. Does this make any sense?

The fact that a certain genre of music could be attributed to any sort of sexuality is a weird idea to me. I'm positive straight people listen to "gay music" and gay people listen to "straight music". So the idea of separating them seems stupid to me.

It did have two people (who were gay) hosting the morning drive programming, but supposedly the gay following has something to do with the music.

Whaaaaaat!? That makes no sense to me!
Unless the music's lyrics talk about gay relationships and such, I don't understand this at all. Maybe they play music by homosexual artists? But judging music as "gay" or "straight" is completely bizarre to me. I mean, music doesn't have sexual preferences.

im as straight as can be and i listen to some "gay" stuff every so often i dont care what others say. they like it too  so no worries. Growing up is fun; So get out there and Experience new things.
