Talking Yay! - August 27th 2010, 06:11 PM

So today I came out to one friend! It was a big step and I'm really proud of myself. I didn't think I would go through with it! I wanted to tell him face to face, but we ended up talking on MSN chat. I told him I had a secret to tell him, and he said "What is it? " and I said "Guess" because I was really nervous, he said "Bisexual?" and I said "No, but you're close!" and he said "ohhhhhhh! I get it " I said "We are talking about the same thing right? I don't want you thinking 'OH YEAH I GET IT SHE'S INTO PONIES!" but he explained how he was really touched that I told him, and that he thinks I should tell my other friends and he was really really great about it. Then he said "So, you're definitely not into ponies then? "

Sorry, I'm just really happy!

aw, i'm glad he reacted so well. don't feel pressured to tell the world.. but hopefully this will give you the confidence to tell the people you want to tell. having someone that's supportive and knows is great! congrats.

..and our dreams will break the boundaries of our fears..

I wanted to post here because yesterday I was feeling the same way a lot of people here are, scared, confused, and worried about finding the courage to tell someone, but today I finally did, so they can too!

That's really, really sweet! I'm glad your friend took it so well. He sounds like a nice, open-minded guy. It's great that you were able to tell someone, as even just confiding in one person is a HUGE accomplishment! Congratulations!

You don't have to rush into telling your other friends if you aren't comfortable just yet. Take as much time as you need. But, like Elle said, it can be incredibly encouraging to have someone react so well to the news. It really ups your confidence. I found the more people I told, the easier it got each time.

Congratulations again! I am absolutely thrilled for you!

Thank you very much! I definitely feel that it would be easier to tell someone else now

I decided to tell him first because he had once confided in me one of his secrets, so I felt that I could trust him to do the same for me
