Little help? - August 28th 2010, 01:37 AM

I'm not sure if this is the right place but here it goes.
I'm genderfluid/genderqueer, whichever you prefer. For the past little while I've kind of moved on to new friends and such. They're really great and everything, but they don't really know about my gender at all. They know me as a female, but lately I've been feeling more male and they have no idea. I kind of want to tell them, but I don't know how open they are. Their parent has a same-sex partner right now, but in terms of gender that doesn't always help. I don't know if they'll be open enough to understand it, because they live in a smaller community and whatnot.
The thing that makes it more difficult is that one of them (the one I'm mostly talking about) has a crush on me, and I'm certain because I was told by this person and some people who know them. I'm just kind of wondering how I would come out, so to speak. Would I drop hints or just say it? And if the latter, what is the most "gentle" way to do so? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Open, honest, and upfront is always the best way to do it.
Not everyone catches hints but you could leave a few and gradually lead up to it.
Explain your position and they should understand, they will either accept it....or not...
So do it whenever you feel it's right to tell them =)
