How do you tell if youre gay or straight? I really want to be gay, I just like girls more in general. But I can't keep myself from liking guys. I have a crush on a guy I have no chance with right now and I wish I could just get passed him and move on to a girl. There have been several moments during sleepovers that I have been mentally willing the other girl to kiss me I want it so bad. I don't want to be bi, I want to just be one or the other. Help?

Hey there.
I think that it's great that you're so embracing of this particular part of your sexuality... but I think maybe the key is embracing yourself wholly. Do you think that it's really feasible, the idea of changing your sexual or romantic preferences? In most cases, people will like who they like... no matter how they pressure themselves to feel differently<3. I do hope that it gets easier... Generally, people's preferences will become more definitive over time. But all sexualities are perfectly okay, perfectly healthy, and perfectly perfect. Be who you are, and enjoy it... you certainly deserve to. xx Ada I believe thatyou're inherently beautiful : ) |

You could be bi and there's nothing wrong with that. You are who you are. If it's bi, then you're bi. I lean more towards girls, but guys can get my blood pumping just as fast. It took me a while to accept, but if you like both (as it sounds like) then relax, have fun and be yourself. Whatever that is.

I know it can be incredibly frustrating, but unfortunately, clarity is achieved often only in the absence of any conscious desire to control the outcome. Actually, our experiences do not define us. Sexuality and many other things are taken to be 'identities', but are they really? These are things that describe how we relate to the world, and even our own bodies, but is our 'self' simply a culmination of the manners in which we relate to concrete reality? What is self? What is 'I'? "If limitations exist, it is because we have erased the possibility of potential."
