Another reaction, although from someone that lately found out that I'm bi, got me thinking of another thread idea. Light hearted. What were the funniest/oddest reactions you got after coming out as LGBT? It's not always rough coming out, sometimes it can be amazing with a couple laughs.
So far: 1) The best has got to be telling my friend I've found, from experience in coming to terms, that girls have become more drawn to me. His reaction: "Gotta convert now." Like someone can convert to being bi. 2) Another friend, roommate, joked that he was cool with it as long as I didn't try to sneak into his bed at night. It's funny how some guys instantly jump to that. 3) Not mine, but on 'Shameless': "But, seriously, like up the ass? Do you get used to that? Can you get used to that? I mean the whole point of the digestive system is one way traffic... 'it just is.' " What's your story? Figured a thread like this might inspire others to come out to their friends or show the light side of complications. EDIT: Also although this isn't coming out - I, at least, find it funny - my mom thinks I, a half gay guy, is homophobic lol since I don't want to talk to her about that subject rather than thinking it's a 'birds and the bees' thing... reminded me of the Mom in 'Shameless' telling her sons, one of which is gay, "you have no idea how hard it is being gay" lol. The blindness of parents is amusing sometimes. "Maybe I just like people. Maybe sexuality isn't one thing or the other. Maybe it's just something that's shifting and moving. I just know I'm not thinking man or woman."

Well this isn't that funny but my friend was really scared to tell our friend Connie (whose pretty against all things sexual) about being bi and when she finally said it Connie was like 'what does that me-ohhh.'
Ironically, today on facebook one of my friends write 'This closets getting too cramped.. I'm coming out.' And hes serous ![]() ![]() Buddy|Live Help Operator|HelpLink Mentor|Social Networking Team Relationships&Dating Mod|Lifestyle Mod|Media&Entertainment Mod Performance Committee |

Well, when I told my cousin and longest/best friend, I actually didn't want to. I had asked her about this 'guy' I liked via e-mail, and she told me to call her about it. So I did, and before long, I was rattling on about this 'guy' that I liked so well who I didn't think my mom would like so well and "would she give me advice on how to talk to him"? Then she said this...
K : What's his name? Me : What? K : I said what's his name? Me : Er... Can I just not tell you? K : No, Ana *insert middle and last name here* you'd better tell me right now, or I'll tell your mom. Me: Uh, no. (( skip forward about four/five minutes of this )) K : Tell me. Me : Alright, alright! Promise you won't laugh? K : Promise. Me : He's a she and his name is *insert crush's first and last name here* K : Wait, no. That isn't gonna work. Me : *thinks she means because it's a girl* Why? K : That's not his real name! You lied. Now tell me his real name! Me : That is, I swear! Just try to figure it out, okay? It's like a riddle. (( after five more minutes of trying to convince me to tell her 'his' real name and trying to figure out what the hell I was saying )) K : OMG! It's a girl? Me : Yeah. K : That's great, but your mom is gonna be sooo mad. When I told my best school friends B and S about it, it was like this... B : [has told story about her gay (male) friend who's a foster child and will get kicked out of his house if he's found out to be dating his neighbor's son] What should I tell him? S : I don't know... B : [obviously thinks that if S don't know how to help, then she's at a loss, because I most definately won't be able to] Me : I can help, a lot, actually, if you want me to. I know exactly how he feels. S : [is smiling] You're gay? Me : No. (( B and S start talking again )) Me : I'm bi. (( B and S stop talking )) S : Huh? Me : I said I'm bi. S : [wide eyes] I'd have never guessed. B : Me either. And that's how it came to be that all my best friends knew I was bi. It turned out that B was bi, too, and was secretly dating a girl who I'd thought was lesbian since I first met her... Call it a gaydar or whatever you will, but it sure works.

I love this thread idea.
![]() My story is kind of not appropriate for people under thirteen, so I'll write it in white. ![]() The other day, I kind of re-came out to my friend. She knew I liked girls, but she also assumed I liked guys as well. We were discussing her boyfriend, and that led to me pointing out I wasn't going to have a boyfriend. So she asked 'Don't you like both?' and I said no. So she's like, 'Are you still a vegetarian?'. I just looked at her, thinking, What?. Then she's like, 'As in... no meat.' I groaned. ![]() Incidentally, when I first came out to her, I just told her about a crush of mine. We were on a train at the time, by the way. So she looks at me, all surprised, and says, very loudly, 'So you're a lesbian?'. At which point one of the other guys went all wide-eyed and turned to look at us. I swear he thought lesbianism was hot.

I was e-mailing my cousin about colleges, and she was stressing about finding a boyfriend in college. I was kind of nonchalant, and basically just stated I was allergic to males. Her reply was "You know, no offense, but I think you'd make a perfect lesbian. Just saying." I replied with something similar to "Hehe, about that, you see it's a funny story..." The rest is history
![]() With another friend, we were discussing boyfriend problems, and I got exasperated and just stated "You know what?! I'm gonna be a lesbian from now on!" She laughed of course, until I told her I was serious. She was cool with it in the end, though.

I was holding hands with my girlfriend in choir and the teacher was talking to the guys turned around saw me and my girl holding hands and was like and I quote " well girls thats hot" and then he continued to teach the class! After class me and my girl couldn't get over the fact that he'd told us that it was hot that we were holding hands! We LOLed about it for days.

Well, when I told my coworker/friend Johana, she replied with a loud, excited "No way?! We are SO going to a gay bar when you're 21!" Loud enough so that my supervisor heard as well... xD
Then, when I told my friend Kathy, she just screamed and hugged me for a good five-ten minutes, in the middle of the hall at school! Lastly, it took my friend Briana a good week to finally accept that I was NOT pranking her! Make it stop, Let this end. This life chose me, I'm not lost in sin. This was before I realized that I was a guy My junior year of high school (now a senior) I was going out with my first girlfriend we were in a long distance realtionship we were texting each other after I got out of school. One of my friends has this really weird habit of seeing who her friends are texting it's not a nosy habit just her being curious so me being smart me, mentioned I had an unread text message on my phone big mistake.
So my friend reads the text message and starts laughing hysterically like a crazy person so my other friend that was sitting in front across from her on the bus asked her what was so funny. So She shows her the text message that she just read and the minute my friend gets finnished reading it she flies back in her seat and throws the phone back to me. I pretty much scarred her for life with how perverted the convo was between me and and my ex. It was an awesome way for them to find out that I'm bi. my name is implusive, stubborn as a mule, funny, awesome, risk taker, random, dude whats yours?

Recently to my sister, found it kinda funny since it's in the definition:
"I'm like Billie Joe Armstrong, Green Day - in all ways possible... I'm bi." "What?" "I'm bi. As in bisexual." "You like guys?" "That's bi." Lol. Just for some reason found it funny. Everyone but my extended family and parents now know. "Maybe I just like people. Maybe sexuality isn't one thing or the other. Maybe it's just something that's shifting and moving. I just know I'm not thinking man or woman."

I have a friend that I've litterally been friends with since she was born. When I told her I was bi she was just like "Oh yeah. I knew. Abby said she you were."
I don't know why I find it funny, maybe just because I was so worried about telling her and just that everything was fine. Though I'm not sure how the other girl would have known. |

I never really 'came out' to my mom, I was 12 and had my first girlfriend, and we had been dating 3 months before I walked up to my mom one day (nervous wreck I was) I said "Hey Mom, Guess Who I'm dating" And she said "Kendre" My jaw dropped to the floor and we both started laughing, My mom knew the whole time. Stupid Myspace told her((:
Everyone has people in their lives that are gay, lesbian or bisexual or transgender. They may not want to admit it, but I guarantee they know somebody. My feelings for Ellen overrode all of my fear about being out as a lesbian. I had to be with her, and I just figured I'd deal with the other stuff later. -Portia de Rossi That is Love.
