Am I Bi? - April 25th 2011, 07:06 AM

So recently - ok not recently, for a long time I've been thinking that I'm probably bi, but I'm not really sure. I've always had a sort of affinity to females. I've always been in love with the beauty of the female body, something about the shape is so empowering and inspiring. And even though I like guys as well, they lack that power.

On to the point. I've found that I've always liked looking at girls. I even got called lesbian all throughout grade school because I liked to draw girls. The only males I would draw would be monsters with abs, and so I was labelled like this. And I agree.

Now I'm finding that I'm pretty attracted to girls. I mean, I love guys too - I definitely have a preferences for males. But I'm curious if I live up to the "criteria" of being bi, or if I'm just bicurious or what.

I've never been in a relationship with either one, so I can't tell what I prefer other than what I fantasize about. I think of guys, but I think a lot about girls too; I want to touch them, be near them, cuddle them, sometimes kiss them. But at the same time, I've never had a crush on a girl. I also find that I find it hard to imagine being intimate with a girl (though I've done it countless times in my dreams). I can picture myself in a relationship with a girl, and I often fantasize about it, but at the same time I can't imagine myself growing up and marrying to a girl. I find I want the end result to be a guy.

So, thoughts? What exactly am I? I wouldn't mind if I'm considered bi, I'm lucky to have an accepting environment, but I'm curious to see what you guys think I am.

Personally, I think that your sexuality doesn't have to fit into a label.
For some people, orientation labels don't fit and they find that they don't fit into the category or gay/lesbian, bisexual, pansexual etc.
Maybe if you give it time and don't be quick to label yourself unless you definitely know for sure what you are, you'll be happier.

Being a teenager is meant to be fun, exciting and the time you discover yourself. Experiment if you like. It's all in your hands.
Remember however, being gay isn't a choice, it's actually to do with the chromosomes in your brain, so if you find out you are into girls, I suggest not stressing, because it's how you are. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, and no matter what happens you'll be you. You won't have changed, you'll just be more open to relationships with the same sex/gender.

And finally, I would say it'd be hard for anyone to judge from a distance as to what you are. They'd have to really get to know you first.

Good luck on your quest to finding yourself.

You could be bi from the straight side rather than bi from the gay side, yeah it gets confusing and mixed up but we're not all 100% bi.

You sound a lot like me, if you reverse the genders. Everything girls, but guys on my mind too.

Really, the label doesn't matter. Some people who are bi consider themselves straight because they lean towards the opposite gender. Some people who are bi consider themselves gay because they lean toward the same gender. Others still just call themselves bi. Whatever you want to call it, it doesn't matter. You're you, and the label is simply a label that does not really matter.
