It can be really tough to have a crush on a teacher! As I'm sure you know, it's not uncommon. It happens to a lot of people, but that doesn't mean it doesn't stink!

Remember that it's okay to admire from afar, as long as you don't act on these feelings. A relationship with a teacher would be highly illegal, and if she has a boyfriend, she's not available anyway. If you find that these thoughts are consuming most of your day and night, it might be good to try to distract yourself from thinking about her. Pick up a book or sit down with a new hobby. Spend a lot of time with your friends! Activities like these can help to get your mind off of it. The less you think about it, the easier it will be to move on.

When it comes to your feelings for her, do you think you're actually in love? A lot of times, these kinds of crushes can be chocked up to infatuation. It can be very difficult to distinguish between these feelings. That tingly feeling that you get at the sight of a crush can feel really similar to love! But a lot of times, we're in love with "our" version of the person in our heads, and not actually who the person is. Remember that your fantasies are just that, fantasies, and unfortunately, they must stay in your head.

But like any crush, you can learn a great deal from it! Look at some of the qualities that you admire in your teacher and see if you can apply them to people your own age. I think a large part of crushing on teachers has to do with the fact that they're forbidden; often, a relationship with peers can look less enticing. But hang in there, and give yourself time.
