It probally would be best, If you bring up a friend who was Bi. It might help to see how they feel. Then you could say, I think I might be Bi. And explain why. Best of Luck!

Hey Patricia.
It's okay not to be comfortable telling your family at once. When I came out, it was to my sister first, then a gradually expanding circle. It's good that you have someone you feel you can open up to. If you stress the importance of keeping your orientation a secret, he should be understanding - but if you really have doubts, then it might be best to hold off for a while. As the person above me said, if you're not sure how he'll react, you could try dropping something into the conversation about the LGBT scene. How he reacts to that could give you some clues about how he'd feel about your orientation. Or you can do a hypothetical, 'What would you do if someone you knew was bi?', although that's probably more direct. It depends on you, and on him, and on how open you want to be. I hope things go well. Good luck. Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. It's harsh, and cruel. But that's why there's us - champions. Doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world is as it should be, to show it what it can be. |

I've never actually "come out" properly to my family. My relationship with my parents and sister is a little bit strange so my "coming out" story is a little bit different
I just started saying things like "wow, Lauren looks hot on Eastenders today" My mum would raise her eyebrow the first few times but now she's cool with it. That probably isn't the best way to do it with most people though ![]() I agree with Chess. Maybe try and drop in the odd comment and see how he reacts. If he seems cool with it then just tell him casually
