Am I going To Hell For Who I Am?

I had a friend of mine come up to me and tell me that I was going to go to Hell if I didn't change my sexual preference. I know that I am gay/lesbian (whatever you call it). I have always been this way and I don't think I can change that part of me. I started to read my bible and now I am so scared that I am going to Hell. Is God going to send me to Hell when I die? Am I sinning for something that I can't help? My parents say that God loves everyone. Then why would he send people like me to Hell if he loves them?

In all honesty I do not believe in Christianity or Cathlocism, however, I do respect the religons and your worries about the afterlife. Samantha is right, you are not going to Hell. You are being who you want to be and who you believe you are on the inside. Dont think that you have to change that person because as you say, you cannot help it.
Just disregard this so-called "friend's" comment. They are not worth your time.

I'll take this as a religious approach, as I've been dealing with the same fear recently. The Bible says that you're separated from God, but I honestly believe it's strictly during this life. It just means you can't get to a higher level in your relationship with Him until you reach Heaven. I believe He will forgive you and accept you for this thing that's considered a sin. My mum told me that Satan is the one that gives us these lusts, and that God can take them away. (The only part that's actually even a sin is the lust, not the love. So I guess as long as you don't lust after a girl purposefully or have sex with one if you can help it, it's okay. Message me if my viewpoint confuses you please xD I need to work on my explanations, but I'm trying)

The way I have always looked at it was that I was always taught, God makes us the way we are. So considering I don't feel like the gender you are attracted or not attracted to is any of our decision, that means God made us that way and why would he send us to Hell for yes something that he created within us and is out of our control.

I'm Catholic, and I've had worries about the whole 'homosexuality being a sin' thing, so I talked to a priest about it. He told me that we're all God's children, why would He hate who He created? God is all loving and merciful, and He created us to love and be loved so why would we be damned to hell for doing just that?

I do not believe in God, nor religion in general. And it's not up to me or anyone else to tell you your personal belief system. HOWEVER, I shall commence a little exercise in logic:

Supposedly, God loves everyone. Supposedly, all people are equal before god. And supposedly, God has created all life, including yourself. Being that this is something that is impossible for you to change, that means it is something that God gave you--something He wanted you to have. Therefore he would not be in reason to send you to hell for it.

This is genius. I was trying to figure out how to word it, but this takes the cake. God loves everyone! I'm not going to get into details about the Bible here, but shoot me a message if you want to chat about it. I'll try and help you dissect what you're reading!
