Hey all
I've considered myself bisexual for about 2 and a half years now. However, I'm wondering if I may be pansexual. You see, although I admit to being shallow and liking the features of some girls/guys I also do not care if the person I'm looking at is biologically male or female. Essentially: I don't care about gender, and I don't mind what anatomic parts the individual has as long as I still find them fairly attractive. (Also, I hope this hasn't made me sound completely shallow, I go for personality first then looks, but looks are still fairly important for me...) You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection

the way you worded that got me a little confused as to if you'ld consider dating trans people but pansexuality is being attracted to males, females AND transgender people.
"Once in a while we have to do something that scares us. Whoever says that what I want to do /doesn't/ scare me to death, is wrong. It scares me so much more than that."

I would say their sexuality/anatomy doesn't come first.
But if they're trans and I like them then I'd date them. If they're female and I like them then I'd date them. And if they're male and I like them then I'd date them. And if they have no idea and I like them then I'd date them. :') You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection

Well, if your only exclusive to people who are male or female (even if their trans*- because the gender they are mentally is now shown in their sex.) than I think you'd be bi, Pansexual doesn't mean gender blind, it means you love a person not for their gender (or non-gender) like, you know a genderqueer person that is born female, has boobs, and all that, you don't see the boobs and all that that comes with being born "female" but the person. Gender doesn't play a big role.
-If you have any other questions, feel free to ask, ^^ I'm Pansexual... so yea... In a world filled with diversity, I am just another oddity.

So, for example: I will look at personailty first, gender & looks has nothing to do with it. BUT I do like some female parts: e.g breasts.
Ahh, life is so confusing! Essentially, I would have a relationship with a person of any gender but I do like some gender-typical things on certain people...

What you're describing does, indeed, sound like pan-sexuality.
If you are still a little confused this definition may clear it up a little bit: Quote:

It sound's to me like you very well could be pansexual but it can be hard to tell sometimes.

Hey Star,
You know, regardless of your sexual orientation, physical attraction usually does play a part in romantic relationships. So no, you're not shallow at all for recognizing physical features of others that you find attractive. The other users on this thread have given you wonderful advice already! The only thing I would like to add is not to think that being pansexual means you are blind to physical attraction. Like in any other sexual relationship, there usually needs to be a certain amount of chemistry for a pansexual person to connect with someone. Being pansexual means you are open to dating people of all gender orientations, not necessarily that you only base your attraction on personality. Like you said, if you found a transgender person attractive and liked their personality, you would consider dating them, just as you would with a male or female. This could be considered pansexuality. ![]() However, remember that there are also many ways that you can choose to identify. I have seen individuals dating transgender people and still identifying as straight or bi. For example, a straight girl dating an FtM may still consider herself straight because her partner identifies as male. When it comes down to it, there is no set definition for any sexuality. It all comes down to interpretation and what a person feels most comfortable identifying as. So try not to get too caught up in the technicalities and ask yourself what you feel like. There's no right or wrong at the end of the day.I hope this helps a bit! Best of luck!! Thank you a lot guys! I realised after reading this that I don't really need to label myself because I'm comfortable with my views and attractions so it's not like it's bothering me loads. But if I was to put a label on myself, I think I would say I was pan. Thanks for all your help!

Since the original question has been answered and the OP seems satisfied, I'm going to close this. PM me if you want it reopened, or feel free to make a new thread.
Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. It's harsh, and cruel. But that's why there's us - champions. Doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world is as it should be, to show it what it can be. |
