addicted to male attention - May 2nd 2012, 11:52 AM

I think I am addicted to male attention. This guy was a jerk and a player but I still miss his daily texts. I don't understand why I can't just be happy on my own. It brings me down to know that this guy didn't want anything serious with me...like I am not good enough or something. This has happened with numerous guys and I feel like I am depressed when I am not seeing a guy I like. Any advice?

I don't think its male attention exactly that you are attracted to, but how they make you feel loved and needed. Its normal- we all crave that. But you need to remember to take yourself out of situations that make you unhappy, such as when you were with this player. Its definitely worth it to stay patient until you find a guy who will treat you extremely well, rather than just dating anyone who you can, regardless of how well the relationship goes.
You don't need a relationship to be happy, think about why its great to be single. You can just focus on yourself, you don't have to make time for someone else, you can flirt with whoever, etc. Spending time with friends and family can help in this situation to remind yourself that you're loved.
I've read and replied to a few other of your threads and you even said that you hate your life because of this guy. So its definitely a bad idea to stay in relationships when they make you that miserable.

Well I’ve lost it all, I’m just a silhouette,
A lifeless face that you’ll soon forget.

Well it may not be wanting male attention you want but when you were getting the texts it made you feel good like you being paid attention to and etc I am sorry that you feel like guys dont want anything serious to do with you And for it to get you depressed like that I am sorry. I think if you are just yourself that one day a guy will come along and like you for who you are and will want something serious with you

Ƹ̴Ӂ Positive thoughts are not enough. There have to be positive feelings and positive actions.
When you say, "I can't" and expect the worst, you become weak and unhappy.
When you say "I can", and expect success, you fill yourself with confidence and happiness
