What does holding hands really mean

UGH! Me and my man troubles lately!!

So there's this guy and I like him. I don't know if he likes me. I got all excited because I heard him say to a friend (not sure in what context) that he would take me to prom (it might have been like "oh yeah that'd be something I could see myself doing" or like "yes a deff will" not sure) But in the end he didn't. He asked one of my friends (I'm not sure if he likes her or not) and asked if I'd take his bff.

And at first I though "Ok...he doesn't like me...time to move on" or does he?

We were hanging out with a bunch of people and I was fake tango dancing with his best friend. Then he comes over and cuts in. He tells me "we seriously need to have a few dances at prom"

And I internally freeked out with happiness haha but didn't think much of it

BUT THENNN!!! I had him over to my house for a party and we were all watching a movie in my basement. And we started cuddling He was holding my hand and like rubbing my shoulder and we talked a lot that night....but on the other hand his best friend was comically cuddling with him on the other side.

one of my friends said I should just ask him if he likes me or not...would that be bad? what should I do TH??

Wow, what a story, lol. You should consider asking him if he likes you or not but don't ask at a wrong time as it can put things in wrong way as I understand that you like him. Consider taking him out for few times to get to know him, you may find something new through that.

I don't want to get your hopes up (just in case), but it sounds to me as if he's interested in you. My current boyfriend and I went through a similar situation before we were dating

Just because I'm more hesitant, I wouldn't ask him up front. Try spending more time with him (going on walks or to a movie) in a relaxed, non-commital setting and see how compatible you are. He may even try to make a move. Just keep it simple, easy, and try not to get too emotionally involved (though, in case you're like me, that can be quite hard ).

I suggest you just don't take it too seriously and have fun with him before asking.

And Jen I think you're right (and I am trying not to get my hopes up because the crash is always the worst part) ....but its hard to hang out with just one guy without making it look like a date...any tips?
