I asked him out, now I am freaking out. - April 6th 2010, 04:47 AM

So I asked out this guy. I said "do you wanna go out sometime?" he said "Like when?" I said it was up to him because he has a work schedule at work, mine is self scheduled. Anyway he said he would let me know when he was free and that he "would like to go do something". And I think I am just being paranoid and over thinking it but.. he knows its a date right? Because we have been friends for like 2 years and I am just a little worried he might have misunderstood. It will be my very first date so I am just really nervous. Any advice?

Ok. I am just super nervous, I have never been on a date in my life and I really like him. I tend to over think things anyway, especially when it comes to boys.

We went to a movie, nothing happened. Then the next day he asked one of my friends "does she like me or something?"

well, maybe it's best to take things slow for now. perhaps he'd rather stay just friends.

Yeah that's what every guy wants, just to be friends with me, nothing more. I was like 99.999999% sure that it was different this time. I wish I could just learn not to have feelings for guys, it never goes well.

To be fair to the guy he was probably confused.

I disagree with all the above posters, from what you said it was not obvious at all it was a date if you said that you'd been friends for 2 years and you said "wanna go out sometime?"

That's not obvious at all... If you asked me that and I'd been your friend. I'd be like sure lets hang out, thinking in my head that you were wanting just to go out as friends.

If you want something, dont beat around the bush. Be blunt, be brutal, be honest. But most importantly be true to yourself.
