Unhappy I feel like a bad person for breaking up with my boyfriend. - October 10th 2011, 05:07 PM

I know I did what was best for me but I feel bad because I hurt him. he loved me so much and I totally broke his heart. I feel like I'm a selfish, bad person. any comforting words?

You may feel bad now, but you will realize you made the right decision later on. Think about it this way: you were honest. He may be hurting now, but he would be hurting so much more if he found out you had stayed with him but didn't feel the same way anymore. Neither of you deserve to be someone that another person settled with. You did the right thing. Things will get easier. I felt the exact same way when I broke up with my boyfriend of two years last year & believe me, we're both happier. He was hurt at first, but after a few months, we messaged each other & he understands. He was able to move on. Your ex will get through this, just as you will.

From reading your previous post, you've made the right decision. Right now, of course he's going to be hurting. But, you weren't happy and ultimately, you made the right decision for you. Things will get easier, and he'll move on.

You're not a bad person! You did what's best for you. So in a way you'r e a good person because you didn't put yourself where you don't want to be. Things will get better, don't feel bad.
