hi everyone
i've been chasing this girl for a little while and i'll tell her things like she's beautiful, a really sweet girl, etc. anyways, she will always tell me that i'm too sweet (but she says she appreciates it). so (females): if you tell a guy he's too sweet, do you really he is too sweet? or is it more like a thank you? |

It sounds like an attempt at flattery. You may be looking too deeply into this.
When I tell someone they're "too sweet," I never mean it in a bad way. "Years ago, I knew a boy who made all the wrong choices."    |

Its hard to know, like Im in a similar situation, the girl says "You're too cute", but it always seems that she means it in a strictly friendly nature. Its just trying to walk that fine line between friend zone, and possible boyfriend.
And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.

I'd agree with Angel, that you're looking too much into it but if you're wanna know for sure you can always ask her what she means by it.

I also think you are looking to much into this.

When I said 'You're too sweet', I never mean it in a bad way. I think your looking too far into this as well. It may be an attempt at flattery, or as Acheron said, you may be stuck in the friend zone.

I think it was just a compliment as well. It does sound like she may only see you as a friend, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is true.

When I say this to a guy, I never mean it in a bad way. Also, it doesn't mean that it will only stay in the "friend-zone". Maybe it's just me, but I only tell guys I like that they're sweet repeatedly. Any other guy, it may just be a one-time compliment or I don't say anything at all.

It really depends- like quite a few of us have said she probably means it to be friendly and not boy friendly. I'd ask her though- she might not realize youre into her like that. As much as chicks act like we know everything, and sometimes we DO pick up on more than you realize, we can be totally oblivious as well.
Like I said- talk to her! If she appreciates your attention, and calls you sweet, there's a good chance she's into you ^^ |
