Would you like a drink, you ask me so,
I deny the offer, after thinking through,
That yes please would be answer,
But I think about the disasters,
That happened when I used to be an alcoholic,

Drinking every day from 7am,
Falling asleep at 6pm,
Crying for hours because I couldn't breathe,
Disappearing from the house,
Because I was in a dream,

Lying to you all and never seeing the truth,
That when I drink I destroy myself and you too,
Cutting deep and feeling low,
Wishing all that I could so,
To disappear and not be see through,

But I went on a journey to detox my body,
To let it come out and go away from my soul,
I had hot sweats with shivers and shakes,
Threw up with headaches,
And had a set routine of being medicated,

And now I try to stay as strong as I can,
Keep the devil away and stand up,
To become free of this and free through the night.
But the thoughts come back, how I want it so,
To take me down and lead me to hell.
