How to explain to family that medication isn't a cure? - August 5th 2016, 03:47 PM

They think the medication is a cure that it will stop the hallucinations and delusions and that I won't have bad spells or episodes. They don't understand that it's not an automatic fix. It's generally helped with day to day life, I've got a job a few hours a week and I go shopping and I'm less paranoid and have more patience but I still have bad days and every time I do everyone seems disappointment and they distance themselves. I don't know what to do or how to react.
