Re: Gossip Girl: Books vs TV Show - May 17th 2009, 03:40 AM

I personally think that the TV show in no way compares to the books. They left out such significant details about the characters and plots. Mind you, I still like the show, but if it were following the book a little more closely I would appreciate it more. For example, Vanessa as a eccentric, bald headed, documentarian would have been so much better than the boring Vanessa in the show. Blair's brother Aaron, the indie hipster with his natural cigarettes and hemp everything would have been so much more interesting than her as an only child, and her mother getting pregnant would but a greater twist. Overall, they should have stayed more true to the books, while some characters such as Jenny are better in the TV series it is in no way comparable to the series.

Remember you are repairable
Remember you matter
Remember they don't."
