Hey there Jacey,

I can empathise with you here, I also find that my favourite films can be ones that trigger me most, probably because I am able to relate to them, like you relate to the movies that you enjoy.
I do not think that you necessarily have to stop watching these films completely if you enjoy them, but you should be very careful when you view them so that you don't run the risk of completely triggering yourself and gaining [what feels like] uncontrollable thoughts. For example, if you're already feeling a little down or upset then I'd suggest that you watch something to try and cheer you up, something that is not triggering. If you are feeling stable and happy then you could try and watch one of those movies, though you have to be careful that they don't make you unhappy, which is always going to be the risk here. There is always the option of turning the film off if you do find it overwhelming.

Take care.
