It sounds like you’ve got yourself into a vicious cycle of binging, cutting, restricting, etc. Cycles can be really hard to break but not impossible. What’s happening is that you are using food to deal with your emotions. This is not uncommon, so please don’t feel like you’re alone. When you get a bad grade, or when something upsets you, you turn to food to cope. You eat and eat to distract yourself from feeling the bad feelings. But the issue with this is that like you said, you just feel worse after because you know you stuffed your body when your body didn’t want food, because it wasn’t physically hungry. Then, you panic and try to restrict to “even it out” (which actually doesn’t work) and the cycle starts all over again.
So the best thing you can do is stop using food as a coping mechanism and find a healthy way of dealing with the hard feelings. This page of alternatives is technically for self-harm, but it can be used for ANYTHING. Turn to this list when you get the urge to binge, and keep trying different alternatives until you feel a little better, and until the urge to binge passes. Eventually, these alternatives will become just as automatic as binging has become, and you will start feeling better about yourself because you’ll be taking care of yourself.
Hang in there and stay strong! I’m here if you want to talk.
