PhoenixAlive, I'd actually like to hear something that you against, because It seems like you have accept just about anything. Care to enlighten me?
Onion is a Christian with a backbone, just like I am. And he actually has great tactic in scripture. Maybe if you guys didn't try and disagree with everything we say and just accept our belief we wouldn't try and prove ourselves. I don't convert people.

I was told God is loving, tolerant, caring and compassionate. Religon is equally supportive, comforting and a source of strength.
In my life I have not seen any of this. Where was he as I sat under the table alone after my mom threw dinnerware at dad, and dad punching the wall. Or after mom hit my hands so hard with a wood spoon that I could not move them for most of the day. Or the discrimation shown by the (so-called)christan parents of my freinds after my parents divorced, who did not want their kids playing with me because "divorces produce bad kids"
belief.
I have read history books on times that people were prosecuted only because they dared to think or act differently than what the church deemed right. How can the holocaust and ethnic cleansing happen? Or how can a girl get raped for hours in front of a crowd-witout help. Or a depressed person can fataly hurt themselves. As someone has mentioned how many have died in the name of religon? How many wars has religon started?
You are free to share your opinon and believe what you want but I don't like being forced to beleive your way is the only way or else I get one of your three lables. I am working through my problems through the support of non-religous groups,---funny how the religous groups would only help me if I accepted their beliefs and way of life first.---and all of them want me to admit " i have sinned against god and need his forgivness" For what?
Because of all this I have less than positive view on religon, but I won't force you to change your belief, just respect mine.

My mother made me listen to walls thinking people were there that weren't. I watched her come down from meth on the couch. Strange men came into my house, strangers took my bed. My father was never around. My 2 sisters and I got abused, I had a horrible childhood. A bag of toys from the goodwill was a nice treat for me. I got taken away by CPS and was put into the care of my grandmother.
And God is my savior and Lord. You let your circumstances determine your belief in God. You let your faith determine your circumstances. What happens the next time your belief "fails" you? What are you going do? Run to another and blame your unluck on that? I had a hard time, and I rarely blame any of that on God. He was the one that got me out of it.
I just think that you said you were thirteen, I'd like to share some info with you, just to think about for the upcoming future.
Geek? Nerd? More like intellectual badass.
