"I ran several polls on 3 different websites with consistent results. Of those who identified themselves as straight, a little over half the females and about a third of the males responding said they had done something sexual with a person of the same sex at one time or other. I think that's a pretty significant statistic.

If normality is something the majority does, then it looks your feelings are normal. Most societies on the planet have a homosexuality taboo, so it's not surprising that people who have thoughts or desires for someone of the same sex go through a lot of stress before they reach a level of comfort with themselves.
