Re: Smoking when bored - December 13th 2009, 10:38 PM

Hmm. I don't really know, but I'm in kind of the same position as you are. I smoke when I'm bored, and especially when I'm trying to write a paper for English 101.

What usually works for me is keeping busy, and I know that's very vague, but I don't really know how sometimes I can't go more than 3 hours without a cigarette, and other times I can go for 3 days. Sometimes it works for me to call a friend, and have them distract me. Maybe if you have a car you could take a drive without your cigarettes (or money...so you don't stop anywhere to get food) and maybe the cravings will pass that way? (That would never work for me because I think about smoking a lot more while driving for some reason.. lol).
Ummm... I don't know. Reading helps me because when I read I tend to forget about my surroundings and all of the things that go along with real life... I don't know if these things would work for you but they tend to work for me.

I just choose not to do them because I like smoking as of present.
