I think any prospective president is going to struggle so long as there are so many means by which the party in opposition (or members of the incumbent to be fair) can blatantly obstruct bills going before the House of Representatives or Senate on purely procedural grounds. Frankly, I would love to know who thought the filibuster in the Senate was a good idea. I mean, come on...how is THAT democratic? Same goes for other countries where they have this while I'm at it...
But I digress...I think it's way too early to say whether Obama is likely to get re-elected. At present I'd say his chances are as good as anyone else's. It all depends whether he can work with Congress to make the changes he was voted in on.
