Re: Being Found On TeenHelp? - March 10th 2010, 07:10 AM

Google does not update its records automatically. With billions of web pages changing every day, it would be impossible to do that if you think about it. Instead, they will periodically 'reindex' each page to check for changes. This means that if you have removed something from TeenHelp it will eventually be removed from Google's records, though this could take several weeks, or even several months. We have no control over what information Google chooses to store about us, or for how long. This is one reason why we don't recommend that users share details such as their names or email addresses so openly on our site. Incidentally, if your email address is only listed in your profile, then changing your privacy settings will be sufficient to stop Google from indexing it in the first place. Just change each of your settings that you want to hide to "Registered Members". http://www.teenhelp.org/profile.php?do=privacy (Of course, this doesn't help you much now, but in the future perhaps.)
