Hi, im really excited to say that there is a contest coming up where you can send in a poem or story. well, since kids are going to probably be reading the book, i thought mabie it wud be pretty cool to do a poem about how the media effects us with how we should look, act, everything.
commercials too, like, diet commercials and skinny models and how it makes us feel bad and think really bad things about ourselfs. i think there is really way, way too many girls out there as young as 5 to 6 years old with eating disorders right now (yes i did say 5 and 6 year olds are getting eating disorders today, look it up and im sure it will tell you the same thing) and it just seems like this wud be the best poem to make.
i am doing a free write poem
so im asking: what are your opinions on the media and everything they do and say about image? have you ever felt bad becuz of models or even barbie at times? have you ever starved yourself? had an eating disorder? tell me, ill be happy to try and fit it in with the poem.
im just asking for ideas since i only have 4 days left and i got a short notice about it.
this is what i have so far:
TOO MANY GIRLS
Too many girls: So innocent, so sweet, so forgiving, so undoubtfully special, so remarkably beautiful,
stare at the airbrushed pages of what is real to them.
Too many girls???????????
Any ideas for the poem? should i change it or am i on the right track?
ive bene through the media about this topic so im trying to fit in how i felt but also how other people may feel too
=winter
Met you from a tie between u and me buddy,
Saw you from my wired eyes with a twisted little lie, and my mind told me negative when i had a wish to own you with my heart, buddy and you split like twigs, senses told her i fell for him, and she told me "i loved him, and go get him" And while i said "negative he said "correct" <3
Me and ? = 3 days which =correct
