- How did you get help?
took me awhile (2 years). after being told and seeing myself in a cycle of drugs alcohol and self medication i decided to take hold of the counseling an psychiatric treatment that my family offered to me.
- What happened on your first appointment?
i went in. i cried. i told what i could of my story. although i still wasnt sure exactly was my story and what "my story" even meant
- How often are / were your appointments?
once a week
- How long did they last?
theyr 45 min sessions and ive been taking them seriously and learning alot for about 6 months now
- What advice can you give to anybody that is anxious about visiting a counsellor / their first appointment?
its not that bad i promise. nothing can leave the room and they wont judge you. They've heard plenty of stories and yours wont shock or scare them it will just make them want to help you that much more. and if your nervous as all heck in the waiting room as i was. just remember everyone else in there has a story. just like you. and your all there for help. no judgment.
