The police department screwed up by arresting the kid in the first place, and rather than just admit their mistake they basically destroyed this kid's reputation, and that's why they twisted facts.

The good news is that yesterday the Edwin McFarlane case was officially dropped. The bad news is that the Sherriff is not currently clearing Edwin's record. However Edwin's laywer is currently working to have that done. I also heard his laywer on a talk radio show the other day talking about his school "sexual misconduct" while she couldn't say exactly what the actions were, she did say that all they were were boys being boys and messing around and teasing other boys.

This kid's record better be expunged, and even if it is I can't imagine what it's going to be like going back to school. I mean the kid is going to high school that's hard enough without having been falsly accused of trying to kidnapp a 3 year old girl, for sexual reasons.
