Re: First relationship? - October 12th 2010, 07:22 PM

First of all... since the average life expectancy for men is actually in the 70's, you're not halfway there yet. xD

Secondly, my first REAL relationship started when I was 15. We had several mutual friends, and we became attracted to one another. It lasted for two years, but ended rather badly (neither of us were emotionally mature enough for a relationship). My second relationship started when I was 17, and we're still going strong after four years.

I know you don't want to hear this... but 19 isn't the end of the world. Most of my friends are in their 20's, and have never been in serious relationships. I'm a rare exception (along with the handful of friends who are engaged and/or married). At 19, you're still trying to figure out what you're going to do with the rest of your life... and so are your peers. It's natural for people to focus on academics and careers vs. relationships at this stage in your life. Hang in there, remain optimistic, and you'll find someone! =)
