1st-6th grade was elementary school for me, but different schools divide the grades different ways
grades 7 and 8 (age 12 and 13) were middle school and then high school was grades 9-12 or ages 14-18. You can drop out of school at 18 or at 16 with parental consent. After high school you can go to college, into the military, or into the workforce. The first 2 years of college are basically high school 2.0, but you can major in/study whatever you want and finally get to start focusing on somthing that interests you.

same for me except elementary school was kindergarden through 8th, high schoolw as 9th-12th, then college, university, etc.
