Well the truth is, you probably are not in love with him, you guys aren't even dating, and he's definately not in love with you. I don't think it seems that it's worth it, because if he had strong enough feelings to pursue a relationship with you, he wouldn't have to debate over whether he wanted you or your friend.

If I were you, I would sit down with your friend, and say, "Hey, I want to be friends with you, and it's not fair to either of us that we're waiting around for him to choose one or the other! I respect myself more than that, and since I care about you more than some boy, I want you to feel the same way. But, if you do decide to date him, it's okay with me, good luck."

Cuz you don't want a boy like that, anyway. If she does, that's her beef.
