I would say try and talk to her about it and find a moment that you can open up, I had sort of the same problem opening up to my now boyfriend and telling him that I loved him and wanted to be with him.
I know that there are alot of people that may be difficult about you two going out, if you do end up together. Don't be too afraid of them, people like that tend to feed off of your fears and if you ignore them they get bored or irritated and generally go away, Im bi-sexual, im not too open about it but I know that there are people who support me on that decision and thats all that matters.
I would really just try and find that right moment to bring it up to her, maybe during a movie where you end up holding each other those kind of moments gave me the confidence to ask my boyfriend out, when it feels right to you tell her or maybe she might beat you to it
