Re: I have horrible work anxiety - July 17th 2012, 09:25 PM

Hey there! I don't personally suffer from work-related anxiety, but I've struggled with anxiety in other areas of my life. Fortunately, rationalizing things helped me overcome most of the anxiety (not all, but I'm much better now than I was a few years ago). I would say things to myself like, "This situation is not the same as that one really bad situation a few years ago - it's going to be okay." I'm not sure how much of that self-talk you've engaged in, but if you haven't tried it, definitely give it a shot! This job is not the same job. Your manager/co-workers are not the same manager/co-workers. The overall atmosphere is not the same as the previous one. You are not going to be put through Hell in the same way that you were before - not today, not tomorrow, and not on any day you've been scheduled to work.
It is going to be okay.
