    About me
    Hello there! :)

I believe the reason I'm here is to serve: people, animals, earth alike. So that's what I'm doing.

For those of you interested, my MBTI type is INFP. Most people have a profound amount of trouble understanding me, so if that helps, there you go...

To describe myself, I'm quite an introvert, I enjoy art, music, psychology, philosophy, and poetry... (I'd love to have the technical skills of an artist but I was only given the gift of expression) I'm full of contradictions, whether that's good or bad. I see good things in everybody.
I am passionate about giving, learning, and tolerance. I have a vivid imagination and can distract myself in thought. I have a weird sense of humor to some; I'm very sarcastic! I have quite a fascination and love for cats, especially my boy, Oliver.

On the other hand, at my worst I'm self-loathing and quite irrational.. I suppose that's what good art usually calls for, though.

I'm eighteen and still a bit unsure about what I want to pursue as far as university goes, but I'm definitely going... most likely for psychology. And I really need to travel and learn about the world!

  • Interests
    Hobbies
Art, music (I sing, and try to play a few instruments), thinking, writing, relaxing indoors and outdoors (I love parks and conservation areas)... I can usually be found researching online/reading about random nonfictional topics, from abnormal psychology to the human tongue to the effects of aromatherapy. I love to learn (except maybe about numbers).
    Music
So many I love... and I appreciate all kinds. Radiohead, Bright Eyes, Sigur Ros, Bjork, Death Cab for Cutie, Bob Dylan, Pixies, Elbow, Beck, Regina Spektor, Feist, Portishead, The Beatles, Nirvana, Muse, Snow Patrol, The Decemberists, Simon & Garfunkel, Peter Bjorn and John, Kimya Dawson, Smashing Pumpkins, etc..
    Movies
Amelie, Fight Club, Dancer in the Dark, Before Sunrise/Before Sunset, Donnie Darko, Gattaca, Forrest Gump, Juno, Romy & Michele's High School Reunion, V for Vendetta, The Butterfly Effect, anything Tim Burton (and therefore Johnny Depp).. and I'm guilty of loving most (if not all) of the Disney classics.
    Television
House, Monk, Friends, Fringe, Bones, Green Wing.. I also enjoy watching the Discovery Channel, PBS (NOVA), and the History channel (I love Planet Earth!).
    Games
I used to be awesome at gaming. Now my awesomeness is pretty much limited to my expert Rock Band skills on the wii. :)
    Books
I like reading J.D. Salinger, Emily Bronte, Shakespeare, Virginia Woolf, Henry James, Albert Camus, Chuck Palahnuik, Oscar Wilde, Hermann Hesse... many more, I'm sure!
    Favorite quotes
"Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too." - Albert Schweitzer

"We're all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." - Oscar Wilde

“What I always hated and detested and cursed above all things was this contentment, this healthiness and comfort, this carefully preserved optimism of the middle classes, this fat and prosperous brood of mediocrity.” - Herman Hesse

“Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.” - Calvin (of Calvin & Hobbes)

For age is opportunity no less than youth itself, though in another dress; as the evening twilight fades away, the sky is filled with stars that were invisible by day." - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
