 , I'm on facebook though if you can deal with their awful chat system. IMO, the 70-200 f/4 is probably Canon's best lens in terms of value and performance. The 85mm 1.8 is a great portrait lens, but it doesn't focus inside of a meter, which is really annoying. The 17-40mm is designed for film and full-frame cameras like the 5D and 1Ds, where it's pretty much a 10-24mm in crop sensor terms. It's okay on my 40D, but I really bought it as motivation to someday get a 5D Mk. II or something like it. Macro lenses are really fun and are great for portraits of anything from bugs to people.
