Hi there!
To become a staff member, you go through the application process. You can apply here. You can initially apply for a primary position (HelpLINK Mentor, Live Help Operator, Avatar Editor, or Buddy - all of which are, I believe, currently open), then later on down the track you may be able to apply for secondary positions (like Forum Moderators, Chat Moderator, etc).
