Ooh...now that's a tricky one. I think he may well have played some part in what happened, but to what extent I have no idea and I'm certainly not convinced he was the only person involved. There's definitely been enough said about the prosecution case to cast doubt in my mind that he actually put the bomb on the plane, but as my knowledge of the forensic evidence is pretty patchy I can't say much more than that. As far as his release, I think there were good grounds for doing so based on his illness, but that they should have sought further prognoses rather than relying on the now-infamous 3 months, if only to avoid getting egg on their faces. There's no doubting he is dying, but the nature of their proclamations on his release have come back to bite them slightly. It is certainly an interesting and difficult case though. What's your view on the above now you've studied it? I know you said you're not sure but am interested to see if it's on the same grounds.
