juvenile diabetes as a disability? - December 14th 2013, 01:24 PM

can type 1 diabetes be considered a disability if it prevents me from going to school? I also have a mental illness, so those two things combined forced me to drop out.

Hi,

Yes, juvenile Diabetes is considered a disability. If you are having a hard time managing your diabetes along with your mental illness, you can talk to your doctor and they can connect you with people that can help you manage both.
I found a lot of information at this website(it is for the state of Michigan but the information could be useful.)

The biggest question is how is diabetes preventing you from attending school?
