Eating Disorders If you or someone close to you is struggling with an eating disorder, reach out here to ask questions or to receive support for recovery.
I couldn't find the answer online, but what exactly is the correlation between anorexia (or any other eating disorder) and insomnia? How does an eating disorder drain your energy and exhaust you, yet make it impossible to sleep at the same time?
how could anyone ever tell you, you are anything less than beautiful?| PM Me

Its not insomnia. Hunger hurts and is uncomfortable so your body will not let you relax or wind down. I know it would make sense to let you sleep...but you just cannot if you're that hungry.

To add to that--sleep is a healthy body function. So, if things aren't right, and you're not in a healthy place, sleep won't happen. That's why people with depression often say that they're so tired but can't sleep. Same thing here, with EDs.
