D: Anorexia D: - May 18th 2011, 04:26 PM

Hi, just wanted some advice. I have reacently became very concious about my weight and appearence, I have also stoped eating to loose weight (it is working though, i have lost [Edited- Amoroso] or [Edited- Amoroso] pounds in just 3 and half days).
I took a couple online tests to see if I am anorexic and they all came up with "anorexic" or "sevearly anorexic"
Help, please

Beth,

I'm sorry that you are going through this right now. Honestly, you should really go to a doctor. Online tests are good for getting a GENERAL diagnosis, but it's always better that you consult a doctor. What has you down about your weight? I used to have weight issues too, so I totally understand. There are healthier ways to lose weight. You're twelve, so your body is still going through changes. You're going to even out. Also, can you talk to your parents about this? I know that talking about it can be hard, but you're body is being starved. You need to talk to someone. I promise that you will feel loads better. Don't let this become even more bigger than it already is.

I'm a firm believer that there is beauty in everyone. And that includes you! I think that a really good activity that you can try is listing off all the things you like about yourself, inside and out. There is another suggestion I have for you. I think that a good thing you can try is to get a pack of note cards. Any type of paper shall suffice. On said note cards, write down things you like about yourself, positive affirmations, happy quotes, etc. Once you're done with this, put them all in a shoe box or a jar. If you're feeling creative, you can decorate the papers and the container you choose to put it in. Every morning, draw out one paper. Read it. Reflect on it. When you're having a bad day, or a hard time, take out the paper again, and read it again. You have to do this with an open mind for it to work. Take care<3
