High anxiety/Panic attacks smelling dog pee - December 10th 2018, 05:53 AM

So I have a really strong nose as it is, but I found just realized when I am really upset, about to have a panic attack or have high anxiety I tend to smell dog pee more than usual. This is more of a stringer smell no matter where I am, even if I'm not at home.

Right now I believe I am on the verge of having an anxiety attack I am sweating like crazy(it's 40 degrees), I am so pissed off. Anyways I am wearing a night shirt thingy and I swear I can smell dog pee on it, the thing is where I smell it I should be able to see yellow since it has white on that area, but I don't see it at all.

So I am wondering if this could be because of the anger, and the anxiety. Has anyone experienced strong smells like this?

And please do not tell me to email my therapist or psychiatrist to see if that could be the reason, since I have Kaiser and they are going on strike tomorrow at 6am until Friday which means they cannot email me back, there for I'd have to wait to email them till next week because it will give me anxiety as I wait to hear back even though I know I won't.

I think finding out that the strike is actually happening was the start of this anxiety streak and then it just built from there.

I've had experiences where things smell stronger than usual, and for me, I felt it was linked to my stress levels.

Smelling things that aren't there (phantosmia) can be common in both physical and mental health conditions. You might want to check out this link for more information.

It's okay if you can't talk to your therapist or psychiatrist at the moment, but no harm in talking to them about it when you can
