I can barely focus to do one homework question -
July 26th 2011, 04:17 AM
I have a problem paying attention to stuff. I started trying to do my homework for math and my thoughts wandered from the first question and I just started fidgeting. Reminding myself to get back on task doesn't work. I start a question, think about something totally unrelated and then fidget.
I can't have adhd though becuase it only started getting bad around late 12ish. I don't know what to do besides have someone sit over me. It's a lot better when I'm doing something I want to do.

Distraction from work is a common problem.
The best thing to do is to work somewhere with as few distractions are possible. Just you, a chair, a table and your work. No computers, pictures, phones, or anything else.
Make yourself as comfortable as possible (go to the toilet, have a drink, etc). Then it's just a case of self-discipline. Only you can force yourself to engage and do the work. It's something we all have to learn in life.
To make things even easier, set yourself reasonable targets. Tell yourself that once you've done 5 math questions, you will have a break. Then it won't seem such a huge task and you might be able to get on with it.
